draping hates me

So I draped a pleated bodice with release tucks at the shoulders for my 1860's dress. Everything looked great on the dress form, but it absolutely refuses to convert to flat pieces so I can assemble it. Nothing wants to go back together right, and for the life of me, I can't figure out where I went wrong.

Oh well. At this point, I just want to get done, so I guess I'll just follow the original pattern and do a simple gathered bodice. It was just supposed to be a work dress anyway, so I'm going to cut my losses before I get frustrated and throw it in a corner. It is definitely time to move on to other things.

Someday, I am going to have a dressform. It has become something of an item on my bucket list now. :)

I've been using that pattern, and it is kind of wonky too. The sleeve cap is waaay too far down. I had to shorten mine 3" and it still hangs down pretty far. But the rest of it went together pretty fast, so I guess that's what you need. I do like the gathered front on it.

huh. I didn't have any problems with the sleeve cap, but maybe my shoulders are just wider than yours.

Yeah, could be the problem. I almost have mine done so it'll be fun to see how your's turns out too. I did the full sleeve with the little cap on one, and no cap on another.
