I actually finished my outfit! Yay! I had fun at AllCon today. Got lots of nice compliments on my outfit. Saw lots of other steampunkers. And damn it felt good to have a new costume!

Jen, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to steal a couple of your photos to use in my lecture. You present the perfect picture of the Adventurer, mix of talent (required--not what you actually have (ie: tons of it)), and how spectacular a first costume can be with even a little effort.

PS: Now I want your fez in addition to your telescope! :)

That's just all kinds of cool!

It's very subtle, and to me that makes it more steampunkish. It's not overkill. The biggest thing the costume does that so many steampunk costumes don't do for me is tell a story!

It's not just another steampunk costume; it shows where you've been and there are nice, subtle details without going so typically over the top.

The glasses are cool and prove that not all adventurers need goggles.

And you worked a fez-like thing into it, and fezzes are cool!

Oh yeah...and the telescope is badass!
