art wednesday

I've decided that wednesday is going to be my "make some art" day. Why? Why not! So today I took some inspiration from the latest issue of Cloth Paper Scissors and their article on combining hand-painted textures with digital photography. My texture actually doesn't show through very much, but I still love the overall effect. I also played with the colors and added a free grunge border just for the heck of it. I love the idea of taking some of my so-so pics from the 365 photos project and making something that resembles real art with them!

I actually really like both pictures. The first one is so soft and subtle, but the second one is somehow warm even though it's a fall/winter scene. I like the Art Wednesdays idea. I need to do something like that and maybe I'll actually get some stuff finished!
